ive been google searching all day, but ive come up empty. im trying to install a retail version of leopard onto this macbook that came with tiger 10.4.11, and after i run the program and hit restart, i get 2 question mark folders, then it boots normally, but nothing else happens. theres no installer. any help would be appreciated, thanks

It needs to boot from the DVD. Just restart holding down the "C" button and the Macbook will boot from the DVD. From there, it is just answering the questions. Takes about 30 minutes.

ive tried that, ive even booted from it using the disk utility, but still no dice

Obviously the disc mount under Tiger.

If you have an external FireWire HD, I would create a disc image of the Leopard DVD and burn the image to the FW drive. Once that happens, restart your computer and hold down option and that'll bring up the internal HD and the Leopard Install image.
