Help installing .sit file

Hola,

What application do I need to use on my IMac to install a .sit file? Microsoft Word keeps opening up and I know that cannot be right.

Ideas are always appreciated.

Stuffit expander.

.sit files are compressed files like a .zip file. They aren't installers, or functional files. Once unstuffed the actual installer or application will be available.

I find The Unarchiver to be superior to stuffit. It's less intrusive and doesn't require an email address to download.

I have a junk email address at hotmail that I never check that I use for that kind of thing. I figure if I really like the software, I can go back and "pay" them with my name and email. Otherwise, they don't get my info.
