Hi,

Recently I successful installed VirtualBox on my fathers Macbook Air which is running the latest version of Mavericks. Now I am trying to use it on my 2012 13 inch Macbook Pro also with the latest version of Mavericks but I keep on getting the error

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine LK.

Failed to load VMMR0.r0 (VERR_SUPLIB_WORLD_WRITABLE).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}

I am stuck! Could someone please point out how to fix this problem?

I looked up the error, especially the line "Failed to load VMMR0.r0 (VERR_SUPLIB_WORLD_WRITABLE)"
Your favorite search engine should show a number of results, some with actual fixes.
Here's one:

One of the few situations that I have found where running a "Repair Disk Permissions" actually is helpful :D

thanks for the help i actually tried searching numerous forums and none of the suggested fixes helped. That's why i was hoping to get some help here because I wasn't getting anywhere. I just started repair disk with command r before os x opens and this just did the trick. So the problem is resolved. Thank you for your help.
