So I have an ipad air m4 I've had for a few weeks.

It takes the fingerprint but once in a while wants a log in, so I do it no problem.

I'm listing to audiobook on Audible app and I want to pause the book, like I've done many times.

But it wants a log in and I can see the characters I type at the top as I type but they are not getting to the line where my login shows.

So it's not taking any input, can't slide up to change apps or down from right corner, nothing.

But the book is still playing just fine. I just turn the volume down and wait for the battery to die?

Any help appreciated, Thanks

You could try a forced restart, press the volume up button then the volume down button then hold the power/sleep button until you see the apple logo. Once you see the the logo, release the power button.

up down then power doesn't do anything but down up power gets me to a black screen with a power switch that says slide switch to shutdown.
That's great but I still have no input, locked out, can't slide the switch...

Thanks guys

Since it's new - time to talk to Apple.

Might try the button bit a few more times. First time I tried that back in the olden days (2020 SE), took a lot of attempts to be speedy enough. Same phone, Apple Genius struggled as well to finally get it to go.

Just tried on my iPhone w/FaceID and it took me four attempts to finally get it to work.

Even if you see the slider for power off, don't let up on the power button, it's an "artifact" from the previous failed attempt(s).
