This is so weird. I’ve never experienced this with ANY phone I’ve ever owned. Over the past couple of days, my phone will randomly call my mom’s phone - while it’s locked and either in my pocket or on a table. I don’t even see it happening. She’ll call me back and ask if I called. That’s how I found out. It’s happened three times today and twice yesterday.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Obviously, it’s concerning as it can call her (or others) without me being aware, and they can hear whatever it is I’m doing at that time.

Yeah, that is odd, not sure if I can be of any help, but is she listed as your Emergency Contact? The one scenario with the phone locked I've seen this reported in is as an Emergency Contact. The scenario though in the link is not from it just being on a table though, it's possibly from being in a pocket. If not, possibly toggling Voice Control off in the Accessibility settings, since that's another possible cause.

If it's the emergency contact one, reordering it might help with this info creating a dummy contact from the answer, though this is an iPhone X:

This 2nd link gives you some troubleshooting tips that may help, including starting with a hard reset (which also is much less of a pain than a whole restore at least to start with):

Thanks! I did make sure she isn’t my emergency contact, then I deleted her as a contact and re-added. We’ll see.

I’ll check out those links!
