HELP! iPhone 2G - error codes 1600, 23, 21, 1601, etc.

So, basically, I'm trying to get this iPhone up and running for my parents, but everytime I try to restore it, I get another error message, is there anyone that can help me? I've tried iREB, but I can't find a good version to download onto my macbook so I don't even know if it did anything. Is there a specific firmware anyone recommends trying for this?

PLEASE any help you could offer would be AMAZING!
