Good Day!

My girlfriend bought an iPhone 4s some time ago from one of her ex's. (EEK!) And for some reason, he had a access restriction on the phone. So I was helping her do a wipe / update / restore to iOS 7.0.3 and all was well until the phone said

"this iphone was lost and erased" and had to be unlocked with the Apple ID that locked it. . . . Ok so trying hers was no good! It said "this apple id cannot be used to unlock this phone"

Yikes. The weird thing is the contact info is not her ex's ... which was odd. And he maintains he had nothing to do with it. This phone was/is not reported stolen.. Still has an active tmobile account to it (imei and esn are good!)

How can I wipe wipe wipe this phone?

Any pointers would be SO HELPFUL THANKS

Jacob

No one is going to believe this story, I'm not accusing you of lying, but tons of people show up here with stolen phones making similar posts.

The access lock didn't get implemented until after the release of iOS 7, which wasn't that long ago....thus it makes no sense that it's locked to someone else's ID...

And the unequivocal answer is that there is no work around. Apple implemented this feature for a reason and it cannot be bypassed.

There is absolutely nothing you can do. If you are in fact honest and you are the owner then take it to Apple maybe they will be able to help you out. But I doubt it since the phone was erased remotely.

At the iPhone hacks section.
There's nothing you can do to bypass that security feature.
You have to enter the correct apple ID and password that the phone is associated with.
You cant wipe wipe wipe or get passed that anti theft feature.
Next time tell your girlfriend not to purchase a stolen iphone.

Check the contact information, and call to see if that's their phone.
You are trying to access someone else's phone. No one can help if not the legitimate owner.

Doesn't really seem like there was any particular reason to bring up an old thread pretty much out of nowhere.
