iPod touch [Help!] JailBreak / Downgrade iTouch w/ broken buttons?

Here's the situation.

My power button on my iPod touch 4G is very dodgy. It is faulty to the point where manually enter DFU mode is impossible and I have to restore an "ENTER_DFU_VERSIONHERE.ipsw" to actually get into DFU mode.

How would I...

a) downgrade to iOS 6.1.2 (or any iOS 6 version that supports untethered jailbreak)

or...

b) jailbreak it tethered and then untethered with p0sixpwn like in this video:
