Well im not worried any more, If was going to die it would have done so by now. (Although it may be the wine telling me that!!!)

Not to be alarmist, but MacNut's point is fully valid. All kidding aside, turn it off, take out the battery and turn it upside down... at least overnight.

Don't waste your time posting in this thread...all this advice has already been given and the OP has decided to ignore it, thereby massively increasing the chances of this MBP dying. I hope he as a recent backup...

why ask for advice if you're just going to ignore it? That's just...odd.

I really think the OP was just trolling, but we'll never know I guess. It seems he has disappeared (or perhaps spilled more wine, or got electrocuted.

Its still working, tho I did give it some time to dry out. As good as new!

Doesn't white wine get rid of the stain of red wine? :p I would at leash turn the thing upside down to drain any liquid out.

Maybe the issue here is that the OP dumped some really fine vintage on his beloved MBP. Maybe it liked it. They say a glass of red helps the heart, eh?

If he'd dumped some real swill, it probably would have shorted. markymo, i think you should buy a cheaper bottle next time you spill, and report back on the results.

In the name of science, that is.

----
Note: OP- DON'T do this. Though, since you're not really following advice, I'm not worried that you will.

Anyone taking bets on when a post entitled "My nearly brand new MBP died, Apple won't cover it, they suck!!!!" appears?

Hah! no kidding.

Here's what to do.

First option:
Go to the Apple Store where they will tell you that this is a level five repair and that it will cost you $995 USD to fix it.

What my ears heard was, it's cheaper to buy a new MacBook.

Second option
Step One:
Go to http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-MacBook-Core-Duo-Logic-Board-Replacement/296/1
Here you will find complete instructions on how to remove your logic board from the Macbook.
If you think that you can do this, go to step two.

Step two:
Go to Radio Shack an buy a can of Precision Electronics Cleaner ($11) and a tube of Céramic Thermal Compound (you will need it to reinstall the heat sink on the CPU).

If this has scared you away, consider what you have to lose; $1000 USD or a Macbook doorstop. Go for it.

Follow the instructions for removing your logic board.
Take a picture to remind you where the parts go.

Spray the logic board down with plenty of cleaner.
Use an old toothbrush to scrub the connections and any oxidation that you might find.
Scrub the terminal ends of the cables.
Cut a piece of paper about a half inch, spray it with cleaner and use it to clean behind the touchpad contacts for right and left click. (the touchpad is melted in place so this is the only way to clean the contacts)

Spray the whole thing down with Dust Off and then reassemble it.
It should work just fine.

Your options are to pay $1000 bucks to have Apple do the same thing or throw it in the trash and buy a new Macbook for $1200.

Go for it.
