Hey Everyone, I'm new to the site , just looking for some help on an issue I'm having.

I cracked my LCD a month ago, so i ordered a replacement panel (just the lcd, not the whole lid). During this waiting period i was just using my tv as an external monitor.

I installed the new screen today , however the backlight won't come on, the screen is working because i can see desktop icons if i shine a flashlight through the back.

Also keyboard backlight stops working when the new screen is connected, won't even let me adjust it unless i use LabTick, then it works.

Unplug the lcd and keyboard backlighting works normally.

Is this a bad panel? Or a LVDS cable or something?

Thanks in advance

Long story short, i was missing the led backlight, i didn't take it apart someone else did, so i didn't know what was missing.

BUT i shorted something out while connecting the led backlight flex cable with metal tweezers, do i need a new lcd panel or is it just the led lights themselves??
