Hi,

My background: Several years using Mac for daily heavy use. Started with the infamous MacBook white back in 2006.

I am a shortcut person. I use a lot of Command key. i.e I press cmd L for Chrome to focus on address bar, and tons of everyday Photoshop shortcut use. Spotlight, and copy paste.

During these 3-5 days. I felt sometimes left Command key doesn't work when performing key combination i.e Command T for new Chrome tab. I even stress test pressing it in System Preferences shortcut section and it always registered.

Today I finally took the leap of faith, open up the key and look under it. There's nothing suspicious. No debris and crumbs. The thin membrane rubber also perfectly covering. I even sprayed a contact cleaner just to make sure.

As you might've guessed, the problem still here.

Is this software problem or h/w problem?

Thanks.

Exactly what machine are we talking about here?
By your brief description, it sounds like a 2018 MBP???? In which case you won't have to Google very far to see that the keyboards on the 2016 - 2018 models are fundamentally flawed.
