    Hello dudes
I have a 1 week and a half old MacBook, today my mac asked me to restart the system, I was in safari when suddenly a gray icon appeared on my screen with the shape of the power button asking me to restart the system holding the power button during a couple of seconds to restart or just turn off the mac, whats happening with my mac?? its brand new, during the week I installed 10.4.10 wishing that everything would be perfect but now it only one day this strANGE thing happened...what should i do??
I need help I dont know what should I do to avoid this thing, then after I turn off my mac and I turn it on again a screen appears telling me that was a system error and I should report Apple what I was doing when the problem appeared (surfing with safari and using microsoft word)

    Whats happening??

You're getting an AirPort-related kernel panic. There've been a few of them 'round since the last batch of updates. If it's happening consistently then you should probably take it back to Apple. :)

I've noticed that Safari will not load web pages even though the airport signal shows full strength then followed by a kernel panic...but I would say the problems coincided with the installation of 10.4.10... should I archive and reinstall from the restore disks, and then run software update to get everything up to date. Now that it seems to be related to 10.4.10, I doubt I'll install that again.

This is the exact reason I'm sticking with 10.4.9 and not updating to 10.4.10. It's got major problems with airport. Try reinstalling from your 10.4.9 disks. That should fix the problem.

FWIW, 10.4.10 is the first update that I've seen in my time with macs with such issues. All the other updates I've had from 10.3.3 to 10.4.9 have been ok.

Yeah, an Archive & Install then returning to 10.4.9 is worth a shot. I haven't had any 10.4.10 troubles on the ten or so machines I look after... Yet! :p

Interesting. My GF and I were having major airport problems on our new SR MBPs, but after the 10.4.10 update everything was resolved. We weren't getting kernel panics but the airport seemed to just go dead; we'd disable it, re-enable it but still see no networks, we were unable to manually specify one, etc. Only a reboot would fix things temporarily. Now it's been OK for a good 3 weeks.

If you're running 10.4.10 still, then the 10.4.9 update won't run. You'll need to reinstall OSX (preferably via an Archive & Install) first. Make sure you get the combo update that's appropriate for your machine. :)
