purchase mini-dvi to video adaper, tried both ports, tried control-f2, still can't work.

macbook is early 09 white edition, projector is infocus 74

btw, also tried on lcd tv.same result.

should i try a hdmi connector? worry abt wasting money.

Plug the adapter cable into your MacBook and connect the cable leading to the projector. Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays. From here you can change many of the settings for using multiple monitors.

P.S. "ctrl + F2" isn't going to do anything...

What actually happened when you hooked it all up?

Edit: If you did MiniDVI-->Video, you can only output upto 640x480 over the video-out. If you want higher, you'll need VGA or DVI.

nothing happened, that's the problem.

I tried 640X480, thousand colours.

I actually used S-video.

do i have to click 'detect display' ? anyway nothing happened after i click!

goodness.

I would buy a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter because that will give you the best quality and highest resolution, and it's seamless to set up-just plug 'n play.
