Ok, so heres the deal. I loaned my Macbook to my friend for a couple of days and now whenever i turn it on I get a kernel Panic screen:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x003AA827): Unable to find driver for this platform "ACPI".

Then I tried to boot from my tiger DVD and it rolls for a while inside the drive and the mac then spits it out🙁

Any ideas what i should do???

First, you need to talk to your buddy and find out what the hell he did with your computer. Install something? Delete something? Drop it?

Is that the original restore disc that came with the MacBook? If so, it may be time to make an appointment for the Genius Bar...

Sounds like either a hardware problem, or perhaps a failed firmware update trashed something. Applecare it.

edit: nice friend. Why is it always some "friend?" Who would care. Just say my macbook wont boot.
