Hi guys..

So I have this Macbook Pro Early 2015 the 13" one.. when turning on seems to be fine but after logging in theres a lightning thunder-like appearing on the screen.. has this happen to anyone of you? Am I the only one? I bought it February of this year.
It does not show up everytime.. just randomly. Maybe 8x now.
MAC OS X EL CAPITAL 10.11.6

Here is the link:

I took a pause from the video due to the quick disappearance.. at 13 seconds onwards frame. Please see attached photo.

Is it alarming? I have never experience so far any problem with my mac except that lightning thing.

Thank you in advance..

I had this problem with my 2012 rMBP. I took it in and they replaced the video card and screen, and it was done under AppleCare.

For me, it started with the very occasional (dismissed it as a software glitch) then it got worse and worse over a period of a few months. I was abroad at the time and by the time I returned to the US to see Apple it was happening fairly reliably every few mins.

Does it happen most of the time like randomly or often?

They didn't say much at the store. They just observed it and shipped it out. They described it in great detail. I also had a video to show them but I don't remember if I had to e-mail it anywhere or not. Then when the computer came back they just told me they replaced the stuff, so it seems it was defective.

If you are under warranty, don't delay and just go to the Apple Store now and get it done because it WILL get worse with time. If you are not under warranty, I am not sure what recourse you may have.

Wow, that's really cool. Don't fix it, it almost looks like Batman MacBook.

They turned it around in about 5 days or so. I am in Chicago.
Have tou tried resetting the SMC PRAM? Before taking it for repair?
I tried asking from apple thru chat.. customer care asked me to try resetting the SMC PRAM and update my OS to the latest one.

Yes, I tried to do all the software things. I even wiped it out and reinstalled the OS. Ultimately this is a hardware issue.

If you aren't under warranty I'd recommend selling it as is before it gets worse and buying a new one.

If you are under warranty just back up your stuff and bring it in for repair.

Yep. That's how my started out. You could easily miss it if you blinked. Then it got more frequent and more noticeable. After a while it was annoying to use.

I did buy AppleCare, and I'm glad I did because my warranty was expired when I finally had a chance to bring it in. Granted, I haven't had problems since but I'm glad I had it for this repair which would've been costly.

I'm planning on buying a MacBook Pro retina with the Touch Bar next and since I'll be spending $2,600 the extra $220 for the AppleCare seems like an easy choice for having peace of mind for 3 years. Kind of wish they made it 4 or 5 years though!

Hi Greg, some update on my case..
2 days ago I brought my MBP to the apple authorized center. But before that, I performed a diagnostics I got the PPT004 error that says the battery needs to be serviced...but I don't experience and problem with the probably or may e its not that obvious at that time.
So when I got to Apple authorized center I also reported that error.
I called just today to follow up what has been happening with my machine, they said that they have to replace the main board.
I asked what about the battery error..
They said they will check if that battery error also is coming from faulty main board..
That will take up to 2 days because theyre waiting for the hardware.

I hope everything will go just fine after the repair.
