Hey guys so my 13" 2010 Macbook Pro (which i recently upgraded with an SSD and got rid of the superdrive to put my old HDD in it's place) is connected to a 24" LG monitor.
For the past few months on two occasions my monitor screen suddenly goes white and I couldn't interact with my Macbook Pro as I had set it's brightness all the way down, but i couldn't turn it up and it was unresponsive. The only way to get around it was to do a hard shut down.

This doesn't happen during login, it happened once when I was sending an email through the Mail app, and once when I was entering my credit card online.

Any suggestions as to what the issue might be and what a fix should be? Thanks!
