My HP Scanjet 3970 has never been to happy with my Mac running snow leopard. But it has always worked in the end. But now maybe because its OSX 10.6.4 it just wont recognize the scanner is there.

Anyone know of a way around this? I can't even remember what I did last time, I know it tok days but I got there in the end! I don't use the scanner much, and this one is perfectly good, so I really don't want to have to get another one.

Thanks guys

I have the HP G4050 scanner and I use it on my 13" MBP running SL 10.6.4. About 8 months ago HP released new scanner software for Snow Leopard and in my user experience it works great... fast, easy and accurate. Go to the HP site and plug the name of your scanner into the their search engine and look for the latest software for your scanner. Installing the latest software might improve your scanning experience... it sure did for me.
