Myself and many among us have wanted mouse support on iPad for a very long time. I’d like for Apple not to step away from helping people but to step up to the challenge of helping people.

The Only way I can see adding in Mouse support if being part of some sort of Handicap and Accessibility Empowerment movement or App, where Disabled people or the Disabled community work with Apple into adding something called Remote Touch.

Basically just a virtual long distance finger mouse based with a translucent cursor that all it does is allow you to tap from afar.

This would help people with the shakes or early Parkinson’s who can’t steady themselves well enough but can lay their hand on a table and use a mouse. As well as many other issues.

This is me - I can do some things with the touch interface that aren't too sophisticated but others like text selection and manipulating sliders (e.g., in Lightroom) can really be problematic.

And this is how we start. That’s one person on board. In my opinion Apple has deliberately avoided adding in mouse support. So we need to go about things in a different way now.

I also think mouse support would make Apple ios device more accessible. But Apple knows that too. If they didn’t do that, until now, it’s because it wasn’t convenient for them in terms of revenues and profits. I feel that's the only thing that, in the end, motivates modern Apple’s actions. Not a genuine desire to make the best product they can.

True 1000 % Apple clearly ain’t gonna do it. The only way is to for lack of a better word, shame them into doing it. Because there are valid disabilities or great hardworking people who need this one additional interface.

So true! Apple has really screwed us bad on this one. I am glad someone finally gets it besides me!

I sense a class action suit having to do with accessibility. I wish I were a lawyer. (never said THAT before :) )

it isn't like adding mouse support to iPad is technically challenging. There have been jailbreaks for mouse support since the original iPad in 2010. Apple simply refuses to do it.

It could just be ego. They have publicly come out against the notion of a hybrid device (i.e. iPad with keyboard/mouse or MacBook with touch screen). It's like a religion or something....they just won't convert.

That’s yet another avenue of approach but a good idea.
