I know this is the iPhone forum, but I don't know where else to ask!

I got a MBA in January, and it has been fine until about a month or two ago. Since then, it started overheating with in 2 minutes of use, and the fan would be on whether it is awake for asleep. I took it to the Genius bar a few times, and they said it is fixed. But it is still doing it. What should I do? Demand a replacement?

Take it back. Have them fix it or replace it. It is under warranty, correct?

Time Machine backup, restore the OS, run Flashblock.

Details?? What is the actual temp? As for the fan, it is always on when your computer is on. As for the fan being on in sleep mode, someone else here with more technical knowledge will have to clarify that.

When the computer was 50 degree C, the fan was spinning at 6000 RPM

Well at 50 deg C that MBA isn't just chillin' there...idk what the RPM of the fan should be, but I'd guess it would be working pretty hard.
