I have an iPhone 4 and an HTC Surround, and, although it's a little different situation since I can switch back and forth between the two whenever I wish, I've found that, since getting the surround, I havn't even turned the iPhone on.

WP7 is, in a word, amazing. I've used android, and obviously I've used iOS. I've even played around with WebOS. WP7 is the prettiest and smoothest. It's still very young, but it more than makes up for its shortcomings with what I feel is by far the best UI design. I still love my iPhone, but I think that, for the time being at least, I'm sticking with WP7.

So of those 3 choices, I'd go with the samsung focus. Personally, I want nothing to do with Android unless it's a handset that uses stock android and has top specs, so I don't ever have to worry about being stuck on older OS versions. And neither of the 2 you mentioned offer that.
+ 1. I agree - go with WP7. It's different, new, fresh, and unique. ;)

Whoa! Total freak incident! I'm just glad that guy is okay.

Just keep in mind that most people that had an iphone and left all wish they never left and come back... :D
Actually it's more like iPhone owners have no clue what other phones are like, with just a few exceptions. There's nothing more fashionable here than to bash anything that's not Apple.

Unfortunately the "Apple Faithful" are such a negative lot, they are critical of anything within the Apple realm that was not approved by their leader. Example? The endless bashing that goes on, when people say they would like to see a 7" iPad in addition to the current size. If a 7" iPad was released and it made a lot of money suddenly everyone that was against it would do a 180 in a flash.

Even the anointed one came out to bash that form factor. What a hilarious group of naysayers.... :)

Ah, well. I for one have used different form factors, and needless to say, I won't be going anywhere. I'm sticking with Apple.

I agree with your post though! ;)

Let's not make this an Apple vs world thread.

Back on top, has anyone used a droid 2 global? Supposedly it has a much faster processor then the other android and WP7 devices.

Thanks for all the responses! No doubt the iphone 4 is one of the best phones, maybe the best, but it's nice to try something different, and not get locked down to a long term contract. I move around a bit, so the 2 year contracts don't work that well for me.

I just don't understand why is people coming to a Mac Forums even so a iPhone forums to ask about other smartphones. At least include iPhone in your choice! If not then go to other forums!

It runs @ 1.2GHz. Not sure there's a huge speed difference though... I'm pretty sure it's only minimal, but if you're going to be traveling a lot, the global radios might come in handy. ;)

Well the option is to keep my existing iphone 3G. Just want to see what else is out there. I'm sure a lot of people with an iPhone 3G will be looking to get something new soon.

I agree that a lot of 3G user will be looking for an upgrade soon. If your list of choice is not an Apple product then maybe you should try other forums. Or at least include an Apple product in your list. Frankly, if you have iPhone 4 as a choice; i'm sure most people would just say get an iPhone 4. Why? Cause this is MacRumors!

the extra .2ghz won't make any noticeable difference, especially since android is the most sluggish of the 3 platforms. It'll provide more of an advantage over other android phones than it would against an iPhone or WP7 Phone.

And the samsung focus is quadband global, as is the iPhone, all other ATT WP7 Phones, and, I believe all ATT smartphones. It's only if you go on verizons network that being global is a big deal.

Agreed! :)

Lol, I bit the bullet and jumped on Radioshack's iPhone 4 deal. The lack of espn alerts on windows phone 7 and mainly my impatience to wait kept me on Apple's platform. I checked out the droids, but they were either too big or felt slow.
