Preface: I originally bought this cheap case:
http://www.amazon.com/iPhone-FYY-Ma...&sr=8-6&keywords=fyy+iPhone+6+plus+case+stand

It was actually a great case with one huge flaw...it has exposed top and bottom edges. One day while multitasking on the toilet, the phone fell off my lap, hit the floor just right, and now I have a permanent ding on the top of my iPhone.

So, I'm searching for a replacement. I really like having a stand for reading with the nice screen. The first one on my list is relatively expensive, and seems like some of my iPad cases in the way it opens. It looks good, but I do see some exposed edges (although the corner protection is much better than the above case):

My second option is a bit cheaper. It has better edge to edge protection, but there's no magnet to hold the flap shut. Note that I don't care that there's no card slot, I don't intend to use my phone like a wallet:

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'd get a black color, not sweet pink.

I own the first one you listed. Got it a few days ago. It's good! Surprising quality for the price. Magnet is strong and gives a satisfying click close. Stand is a little weak though. Push hard enough and the screen moves down.

Awesome, thanks for the input, Oppressed! Does it provide decent protection if one were to drop it? The bottom and top seem to be a bit exposed, but the corners seem to be raised enough to provide decent protection, at least in the pictures.

The stand being weak is potentially a deal breaker. I really want to be able to hold the device on my lap or stomach while I'm kicking back for reading books/watching video.

Thanks again!

You will be fine watching videos with the stand but don't expect to play angry birds with the stand. And the case gave the sense of protection. I wasn't worried.

Perfect! I'm not much for playing games on my phone, just reading and watching videos, so that will work for me. I'm going on a trip, but I'll order it and have it delivered during the middle of next week.

Thanks for being the only one who helped me in this thread! You have a MacRumors fan.

Thanks Edis. I looked at those on Amazon. Not so sure I like the strap closure, and the bottom looks pretty exposed. Top is protected though!

Personally, I'm loving this Ted Baker case, from Proporta:

You can even personalize the back of it - definitely gonna get myself one of these, on pay day!!!

Thanks Dino. Looks good, but the top is exposed like my first case. It doesn't look like it folds into a stand either. I appreciate your input though.

So is it no longer weird to admit to multitasking on the toilet? I'm sure lots of people do it; I just didn't know it was ok to admit it.

I have no shame.

Check this one out if you like the idea of a slim case that has the speaker sound being redirected toward you instead of out the side:

Thanks Dawg. That case was actually sitting in my cart on Amazon as a potential. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the shape; it looks like it has an iPhone 5/5s in it, but it says it's for the iPhone 6. Your comment about the redirection of the speakers makes sense. The case looks thick though. Only negative I can tell is that there's no magnetic closure, but I can live with that. Looks protective. Thanks again for pointing it out.

That Ted Baker one I linked to above, does indeed have a magnetic closure - however, obviously ,there is no 'stand' option.

Have you looked at the 'Surface Pad' from Twelve South? That does have a stand feature. There is a discussion on it here (with some pics):

Hey Dino--That Twelve South looks nice, but it would put me back in the same position as my first one with no edge protection. I've got a permanent dent on the top of my 6+ from where the phone fell from my lap and the exposed part of the phone in the case hit the floor. Thanks again for your input, sorry I'm being so picky.

Just wanted to update this thread and say that I got the Benuo case today. It's really nice, and seems like a quality case. The magnet is a bit weak but it does the job of holding the screen cover closed. I like the way the cover folds back when I open the case; the other cases which have the cover glued to the middle of the back flop around when open, this one doesn't. I agree with Oppressed above, the stand isn't the best, but it's usable for my purposes (reading). The case seems much more protective than my original case, with all corners covered. The only potential problem I see is if the phone drops while it is in stand "mode" a huge portion of the phone will be exposed. That's because it is made like many of the iPad cases, the two middle corners come off and the phone stands on its side. I'll report back if I have any issues. Thanks again all who responded in this thread!
