Hi,

Which card should I buy?

My options are:

ASUS RX560-O4G - 4 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM
Gigabyte Rx 560 Gaming Oc 2gb Gddr5
Sapphire Technology RX 560 - 2 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM
ASRock Radeon RX560 2G - 2 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM
XFX Radeon RX 560D - 2 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM

I do not play games.

Have you considered MSI RX560? Or is that not a brand available in your location?
MSI is mentioned by Apple but they didn't specify which version would work.

I also would like to use an RX560 in a non-gaming environment.

But this is the only RX560 that Apple confirm supported. All other RX560 just "might work". I don't think the actual cost difference is unaffordable. It's your own choice if you want to play (and pay) safe or not.

I guess we wait for other forum members to reply.

For my use I would pay the US$ 140 for MSI but there are at least two if not more versions including the AERO ITX. There are also the versions of RX560 that have 14 of the 16 CUs enabled.

If the under $150 cost is already an issue, I’d suggest you stick on 10.13.6 and wait for a deal on an approved card before taking a gamble on a non-approved card.

I found a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB for $220 on sale, which is an approved card. Was cheaper than most 4GBs and many RX560 models at the time. This is my Mojave backup card, in addition to the official NVIDIA/EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition which was just added to the list (and acknowledged by Apple for the first time).

There is already an updated firmware in the first Mojave beta update and who knows what the future holds. Still waiting on NVIDIA Web Drivers before making any other recommendations.

Whats confusing to me is, when ever is search for the MSI Gaming Radeon RX 560 the results come up as MSI AERO ITX RX560. Is that the same one?

There is a post by someone on this forum (cannot find link) that says they are the same. I cannot 100% confirm this. Much more familiar with NVIDIA cards. Lower end AMD is a messy field of options when searching. Would have been helpful if Apple cited a part number or some exact reference...

I'm on the fence with a few cards, maybe I'll give it some time and see what experiences other folks have.
