Currently using a 32" 4k lg. I have it set at 2560x1440x2 which is pretty much the sweet spot for me UI size on 32" even though it's not a default macOS scaling. Text looks good enough to me. This monitor is going to be repurposed elsewhere so I'm looking to upgrade.

Since 32" 5k monitors don't really seem to exist I'm trying to decide between just going OLED and sticking to 32" 4k, or going down to 27" but 5k.

Higher resolution would certainly be nice, but going all the way to 32" 6k is probably beyond what I can justify budget wise.

I really like the 32" and not sure how much I'd like going back to to 27".

Uses probably about 20% work from home (excel, quickbooks, etc), 30 % Logic Pro, 30 % gaming (specifically cities skylines 2 and the long dark, also nhl 26) this is where I think the oled would be really nice), 20% miscellaneous computing

I think I'm leaning towards going down to 27" 5k, just looking for other opinions

The only 5K monitors worth buying this year are not available yet. Hopefully within the next couple months these miniLEDs will be shipping. OLEDs are wonderful for gaming, but you'd be taking a a bit of hit on text clarity due to the sub-pixel arrangement.

I vote for waiting on the 27" 5K MiniLED choices if gaming is only ~30% of your use. These will have impressive contrast and brightness, but worse motion clarity than OLEDs.
