OK a few things here....Ive been looking for a new computer (MAC) since January....Im stuck with a 5yr old pc from hell. It currently has a sony 19" monitor, it has a glossy screen...The video card is not very good and when working on it for extended periods of time, my right eye which was in a fishing accident goes bloodshot. I dont know if it is the fact that it is glossy, or that the video card is crappy or that the monitor sits way back......

Ok....Now for the help....Im stuck, do I get a 24" IMAC that just updated or should I get a 15" or 17" Mac Book Pro and then get a bookendz with a wireless keyboard and mouse, and later add a new screen....The benifit with the MBP is that I can stay with a matte screen. I dont know, I dont really need the portability, other than surfing on web while I watch tv. Although I like that.

I really appreciate the help. Cost really isnt an issue here. Looking for the best computer for me. Let me rephrase the best MAC for me:apple:

Do you have an Apple Store nearby where you can go look at the screens to see if either will present a problem to you? Or maybe a Best Buy that carries Apple products?
If portability is not an issue, I would recommend the iMac. If the glossy screen is the problem, perhaps you could look for the older (white) iMac. It has a matte screen.
I'm guessing that if at all possible, it's in your best interest to check out the screens personally to see what will work for you.
And congratulations on deciding to get a Mac! I've had my iMac for 3 months now, and it's so nice not having to play IT tech! It still brings a smile to my face whenever I sit down to use it, because I know I will get things accomplished.
