    Hi,

I need help deciding what external hard drive i'm going to buy. Only have two opcions:

    1 - LaCie d2 Quadra
    http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=11158

    2 - Western Digital My Book Studiohttp://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=756

    Any advice?

Get the WD or make your own drive. LaCie is just selling you an enclosure with the cheapest (aka crappiest) drive they could find at the time.

WD's pretty solid and it's cheaper. What size are you getting?

Go with the WD, I have always had good experiences with them

Then it turns out the WD is more expensive now. Hmm. I would go with the cheaper one or find one on sale later on. Unless you need it now, those prices are pretty expensive for 1TB hard drives.
