I've got a Dual 2 GHz powerPC G5 which I bought in 2004 with a 23 inch ADC monitor.

My wife has a 2.1 GHz 13 inch laptop bought last winter which seems to run faster.

I'm starting to get a bit annoyed because some applications are starting to be intel only and my once bugatti of a computer is now decidedly toyota prius.

Which of the current laptop line up should I get for photoshop and writing, surfing usage. (I can get my adc 23 inch monitor to work with laptop using the right connector which I have)

Which has the most longevity I suppose? Price isn't the main issue

I heard the 17 inch is a bit cumbersome?

Any thoughts?

It really depends on whether you would be comfortable with a 15" or 13" display while away from the larger display. You are able to upgrade the hard drive on all the new notebooks to as large of drives as they will make in the future, all macbook pros can go up to 8 gigs of memory. In reality, I think these are the most future-proof notebooks (across the line) they have had in a long time.

That sounds interesting! wis there any official info on that?

not really, its just putting two and two together.

mac laptops support SATA I & II, its the mainstream 'thing' at the moment, as long as future drives stay at the same size then its all fine.

you'll have to trust us 😛

I did actually need the g5 when I bought as was creating a lot of digital video art

now i just do big photographic images
