Help me end my traitorous ways!

My main machine is now a Lenovo ThinkPad T60. I have traded a Quadra 950, PowerBook G4 867MHz, 512k, PM8100, 233MHz iMac, and PowerBook G3 Wallstreet for it. I had originally intended to flip it for a MacBook as soon as I got it, but it ends up that I really, really like it.

I have drawn criticism from my Mac-loving friends. I wish to end this affair quickly, peacefully, and profitably. My questions to you, MacRumors community, are:

Can you sway me from my current computing path? How would I go about doing it? Is this something to be concerned about?

Please help me, for I am being driven insane.

Thank you.

If you "really, really like" your new Lenovo, why would you want to be talked out of enjoying it? There are advantages in using a PC, as many MR people will admit, and if these outweigh the benefits of being a Mac user, then this is the right decision for you.

Sounds as though the stars have aligned (LENOVO helps) to have a Vista OS in working order.

Looks, resale, virus-free, no fragmenting slow-down, osx etc

Ben, Macs are just better. ;)

That's what she said.

Do you run Microsoft or Linux on the computer?

I run XP Pro at the moment. I hate Linux, for some reason.

Sorry, I'm just flabbergasted about posts like these.

Well, I needed some advice. I am flabbergasted at how easily confused you are.

What do you mean? Vista or OS X is good?

hes confused as you went out and bought a pc laptop and now want people to help you go back to mac. why did you even buy it to begin with if you dont want it. lol im confused as well lol

Sell all your PC's and buy a MacBook. NOW DO IT NOW!

Do you think someone would trade?

It's a Core Duo 2GHz with 1GB RAM, a 100GB HD, a 128MB ATI Radeon X1400 video card, and a 15" 1400x1050LCD with FlexView. Also has a 9 cell battery.

It would be a long shot but worth putting on Craigslist. Just promise me if you get a macbook don't trade it two days later for another PC or a collectable Vampire toy from a cereal box that you can trade for a PC.

Ooooo well I have a similar situation as I got Windows Mobile Phone recently and I love it! I would have iPhone'd but T-mobile doesn't have it - only AT&T :-(

It's kinda complicated. I kinda like thinkpads but I thought it would be a good idea to just get and flip for another Mac.

What he said!!! Go! Do it!

Im not encouraging illegal stuff here, but you could also make your Thinkpad PC a Mac ;)

Reading the InsanelyMac forums right now ;)

*insert link to one of hundreds of iPhone unlock softwares here*

Why would you trade a perfectly well built Windows notebook with a decent and more flexible OS which is perfectly secure if you have two brain cells to rub together, for something that's more restricted and is built worse?

Oh yeah. It's pretty.

We like the pretty, don't we? I certainly do.

:p

Finally, a Mac user who is not blinded by fanboyism! :)

To be honest, if I were in your situation I would not trade the ThinkPad in. They are some of the best built PC's in the industry, and loaded with XP they aren't bad laptops at all. I do love OS X, but it would be hard for me to not be attracted to it. I personally love the design of them. Very sleek and understated. I would keep your Thinkpad, because those specs are damn good.

Keep the ThinkPad. Great computer, great OS and nothing can beat XP's compatibility.

I switched to Mac in 2002 and switched back to Windows over a year ago. I hate to admit it, but switching back to Windows has been wonderful.

I still love Macrumors though.

Eh, you're not supposed to say that here. Drop the F-bomb that is.

Apparently.

Personally though these days I'd take Vista with a new decent machine. As maligned as it has been, it's now pretty solid.

I am amazed by the sentiments here. Apparently thinkpads are special machines among PCs.

Agreed, but where does that leave OS X? Defunct in a few years from now I am sorry to say.
