I looks it up and I was wrong, it was a 2012 refurb. Apple care would have been hit or miss. I doubt this one will qualify for apple care but will be looking into square trade.

If it is refurbished from Apple, it comes with a standard one year but you can always still purchase the 3 year one.

It's not from Apple but Amazon. I will certainly be plugging the serial number in to see if it is eligible.

Took delivery yesterday. I'm happy to say that I am not at all disappointed with the screen size. I really thought I would be. The lightness and thinness of this machine really is amazing. Very happy so far. I checked the serial and it's warranty is valid through April of 2015. Battery had 5 cycles when I checked today and one or two of those were mine so it was essentially brand new. Now off to the arduous task of getting my pics and music moved over, time to break out the screwdrivers.
