Help me find an external drive.

I want to buy an external hard drive, and I was going to buy one of 2 Western Digital externals until I started reading reviews and talking to friends, and I was advised not to buy a Western Digital drive. So, please help me find a good external drive.

I want: 1TB preferred, but 750GB should be enough, 500GB is questionable.

I want: Firewire 800, but USB 2.0 is OK, but Firewire 800 is greatly preferred.

And all for under $175 or so.

Fry's has had the 1TB Freeagent Pro Desk Mac, FW800, for $139. Nice drive - very quiet and, FW800 VERY useful.

Those are cheap, but they look/seem cheap.

Thanks, I'll look into that, and the Frys is 2 minutes away from my house, so I could save on shipping.
