Help me - how do I know which OS version I have?

    i just buy an new macbook? how do i tell if i have the new version software on it? like snow leopard?

    Click on the apple symbol in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Go down to "About this Mac" and check that your software version is 10.6x.

    ive got 10.6.1? is that it?

    anther question sorry? how do i tell my my keyboard? light up in the dark?

    I think, I'm not on my laptop, it is F5 and F6 to adjust.
    10.6.1 is the latest.

    Plastic MacBooks don't have backlit keyboards. MacBook Pros do.

    The 2.4GHz unibody macbook also has the backlit keyboard.

    He's just bought a new Macbook. The 2.4Ghz unibody Macbook is no longer in production.

    Is your computer white plastic? If so, it does not have a backlit keyboard.

    Those are overrated anyways. I disabled mine.

    Purely subjective, mine is awesome and I won't buy one without it.

    I'm just telling the OP that it's not worth worrying over.

    And I touch type, so it's useless to me.

    I agree, I need it for darkened conference rooms, as even after 25 years of typing I still need to look now and then

    I improvised...I tilt the monitor down :eek: it's a terrible habit that increases the wear and tear... but muscle memory is a powerful thing
