I am going to Cosco, so I need to make a list of things I need in excessive supply. I have paper towels, and toilet paper as my top 2. Anything you can think of would be great!

    Toilet cleaner
    Surface Cleaner
    Washing up liquid
Little spongey thingys for cleaning plates
Some form of washing powder/tablets & fabric softener

Off the top of my head, that's everything I remember needing at some point last semester at uni.

    Easy Mac.
    Jack Daniels.
    One bowl.

You already thought of the toilet paper and paper towels, so as far as I'm concerned - that's everything you need. Oh, and take a spoon and cup from the hot dog and pizza counter on your way out. The spoon is for the Easy Mac, and the cup for the Jack.

Let me mentally go shopping through my local Costco....without repeating stuff folks have already mentioned, keeping in mind you're just moving in:

Big screen TV (ha ha...that's the first thing I see when I walk in)
Big Xerox ream of paper (setting up office) pens
Flashlights for every room (I live in earthquake country)
Bagels or Bread (freeze part of it...have some ready for quick meals)
Easy meat stuff like boneless chicken breasts,(veggie) burger that can freeze.
Peanut butter and jelly OR big tub of hummus (depending on your taste)
Baby carrots (they last a long time, go good with hummus or you can cook 'em)
Case of water (again I live in earthquake country)
Frozen orange juice (assuming you have freezer space)
    Chips (go good with hummus)
Big box of cereal that you like (quick dinner or snack)
Case of cup o'noodle or case of soup you like
    case of tuna
Some sort of headache or cold or cough medication (if I'm that sick, I don't want to go out and get it.... think back at your health history last year & buy accordingly)

(well, I did repeat some stuff, but maybe that's just good to have agreement, eh?)

The list you have depends entirely on whether you'll be cooking at home or just need quick easy-go meals..

I tend to cook a lot for myself, so staples include potatoes, rice, pasta, and fresh stuff like tomatoes lettuce, celery, endive, spinach, etc etc.

If you want some great recipes for quick cooking with very few ingredients, check out The Minimalist with Mark Bittman.

EDIT: His blog has some good ideas too I might add..
