So, I'm running my new Mac, love it. I have some questions, some mysterious shared stuff is happening.

First, there is a 'PC Server' showing up in the Shared listing in Finder. I have all sharing turned off [well, nothing is clicked on in the Shared folder in Preferences]. This might be the other PC laptop in my network, but when I google the shared name, it shows up as the email address in a bunch of strange places, like spam filters, etc...could it be my linksys router?

Secondly, I created a new account and clicked 'Get Info'. I saw under Shared + Permissions that I could read and write, and 'Staff' and 'Everyone' could also read. Who is 'Staff' and 'Everyone'?

Those are the first two I've encountered so far.

Thanks for any help, I just want to make sure I am secure.

    Best - MD

Those are people who are physically using your computer.

Each user can be granted specific privileges, or not, depending upon your needs. If you're the only user of your computer, then it's a non issue.
