On a  its command shift 3

If it's not here, maybe the issue is with the other Forum, not your Mac. Anyway, to take a screenshot of your entire screen you hit: CMD + Shift + 3. To take a screenshot only of a part of your screen hit CMD + Shift + 4 and you'll have to select with your mouse the area you want covered.
