Hi all,

Hard Drive failed, and had to reinstall everything. Apple took good care of me, and many props to them.

When using finder, my menu bar is fine -- when I use any other app, it shrinks to half its height, and i get the desktop image for half the height.

How can I fix this?

Safari looks alot better in Tiger than in Leopard 🙁

Did you install all system updates? Seems like the graphics driver is screwed up.

hm

eenteresting..

After I reinstalled, I did a software update of everything... but apparently not - strange.

So, I'm currently d/ling a 200 MB update (java, qt, airport, migration, security)

maybe one of those will help...

will advise once update is finished.

Thanks!

Anytime.

Something similar once happened with my old Vista PC. Half of the wallpaper was just black and only half of the taskbar was showing. A simple driver update fixed it.

Then it came back a week later. Thats when I bought the MacBook 😀

..

cool, software update done, and all seems well with the world - easy cure.

I wonder why I only got a partial software update the first time round.

Thanks for the help.

..

nope. and nope.

will upgrade OS if it becomes necessary - so far, tiger does all i need it to, and generally pretty well.
