HELP! Moving from iPhoto to Picasa

I've decided to move from using iPhoto to using Picasa.

Few questions,

Where are all my iphoto pics stored? What folder? Can I just copy and paste that and move it into my new picasa, pictures folder?

Also I back up my mac with time machine in an external harddrive.

What do I do w/ those? Can I still access those pictures later on, even if I don't use iPhoto? Can I just click around in the ext hard drive and copy n paste onto my desktop?

go to the Finder, type Command+shift+G, then in the box that pops up type "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters" This is where your photos should be. They're highly sorted, so start sifting. 😉
