Every 10 seconds there is a clicking sound coming out of the iMac i5, I have a CD loaded at the moment and a USB Stick behind.

This is Standby and it should be absolutely quite. I am typing this on my PC next to it and hear the click every 10-20 seconds. Very annoying and an absolute Dealbreaker. This is a 2000 USD machine!

So did your computer come with a warranty? Call Apple and arrange either a Genius appointment at your nearest Apple store, or alternative method such as shipping it back for repair or getting it replaced with a new one (if you're still in the 14 day return window).

Either way, back your computer up, and get Apple to fix it.

Hi, so you think its an error which cannot be fixed software wise?

This machine is 22hours old, if it can't be fixed by myself software side (I guess its the HDD parking its heads?!), this machine will go back and stay at Apple with my money in return.

It could be related to the peripherals you've got plugged in, but it sounds like the HDD is at fault. It's not really something that I'd want a refund over, but if thats what you want, then you're welcome to it within the 14 day period after buying it, plus you've got the normal warranty so if you want it repaired you can do that.
