Help my iphone stopped working

I have a 3gs 4.0.1 unlocked and jailbroken to T mobile. Today it wouldn't recognize that i have a headset plugged into it. I tried different once cleaning it and everything. Nothing worked.

I still have warranty on it until January, but will I be able to unlock the new phone I get knowing that it might come with 4.21?

The phone is unlikely to come with 4.2.1 I don't think apple is taking phones off the shelf and putting 4.2.1 on them. But more importantly it is very likely that the unlock due to be released today will work with the new baseband for the 3gs.
