iPhone X help! My iphone won't hang up

I was on a call with my Mom and somehow I somehow hit facetime with my chin. I hung up and now my phone won't hang up. I have held the buttons down to turn it off till my fingers are sore. I plugged it up and it still won't hang up. Just vibrates and I cannot use my phone at all. I have no other phone to call apple with either

Yes. It has stopped vibrating but if I push both side buttons it shows it is still connected. I cannot get it to hang up or turn off

Tap volume up, volume down, then hold power button for approximately 10-20 seconds. Do these steps somewhat fast or it won't work.

If it helps, I've experienced this issue before on my X as well. Hopefully iOS 12 resolves it.
