Help! My macbook won't log out

Hi

I have a Refirb. Macbook 13" 2.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2.5 GB RAM running Mac OS X 10.5.4 "Leopard".

For some reason the logout command in the apple menu doesn't work. I do not have "kiosk" mode enabled.

Please Help 🙁

Is your system frozen? Or can you still do normal stuff (use apps, ect.)?

I can do normal things (i.e it is not frozen), the only way to logout of the user is by rebooting

yes it is solved by a painfully slow reinstall of the OS (5 - 6 hours)
