Hi everybody,

2 weeks or so ago my imac made noise the first time.
I did reset the smc 10 times or so, but it didn't work!
I did use an smc fan controller, but that couldn't be the problem, because it doesn't install anything that runs on the background.
I deleted it, and it still running at full speed: 4790 rpm.
I already posted a thread about this, but the answers there didn't really help a lot.

What model is your optical drive?

Apple Menu (Top Left) --> About this Mac --> More info --> Disc Burning

Have you inserted a DVD-R recently?
