My iphone 4 was working fine earlier today, the screen turned off and it wouldn't respond to anything. I took it home, plugged it into itunes (on a macbook, 10.5.8, most recent version of itunes) itunes recognized the phone but wouldn't interact with it, so i tried restoring it as that had worked for issues before. Itunes insisted i update and restore, after a while the process stopped and an unknown error was recognized, now any time i plug my phone back in itunes gives me the error 0xe8000065 and doesn't notice the phone at all afterward.

If anyone can help please do, i'm waiting on some very important calls about getting a job and need this sorted asap.

Thanks

hi, thanks for the quick response, the downside is that guide is for windows operating systems and i'm on a mac.. anything else that can help? tried some of it with no luck, but no idea how to do the Task Manager bit on a mac

thanks for the response again, i tried their troubleshooting guide and still no luck, even uninstalled and reinstalled everything.. if anyone else has any ideas, thanks, if not going to have to take this into an apple store this afternoon

got it working now, thanks a lot for your help.. in the end putting it into "DFU mode" helped (holding down the top and home button at once when connected) nothing else did though
