I need to scrub down my ipod *COMPLETELY*...music, photos, files, app.s, etc. Any suggestions as to how I can get it all off there so that nothing can be retrieved? Thanks!
Use Disk Utility to Zero the sectors or an 8-way random write. Just select the iPod's HD, go to the Erase tab, and click Options. Set it how you want and click Erase. You will have to reformat it for use with iTunes afterward using the iPod Update Utility if you want.
Thanks for the link...please trust me though...I *always* use the search feature before posting...I get just as annoyed as the next guy at repeat posts...I simply didn't find this thread for some reason...and actually, to be honest, as I'm still a newbie I wouldn't have been certain that you'd erase a computer HD the same way you would an ipod's...I'm assuming from your succinct post that it's all one and the same thing?
