Help needed with USB to IDE/SATA adapter

I'm trying to get my iMac to see an external IDE hard drive via an Island USB IDE/SATA adapter.

Here's the address.

I've downloaded the docs and what little stuff they have with Macintosh hasn't worked. 🙁

did you open disk utility and try formatting the external HD?

There's things on it I want to get at.

are you trying to open windows or mac files? hfs+ or fat32?

If you are trying to open window files then boot up your iMac in windows.

XP and Vista will recognize your external HD.
