I bought an iPad Pro 9.7 today along with Apple keyboard.

I got back home and connected it to the iPad. I noticed first that the keyboard doesn’t sit flush on the desk it lifts up! After I took the keyboard off I noticed a brown scratch on the side where it connects up. After looking what happened I noticed a rusty piece sticking up on the keyboard connection which has scratched my iPad.
Will Apple replace this?? I can’t beleive it to be honest.

These kind of issues are a coin flip. There is no definitive yes or no answer and truly depends on who you talk to and if they are having a good or bad day and if the love Apple, it's just a job, or disgruntled -- ready to quit.

I'm assuming you bought this from Apple and not a reseller. If you bought from a reseller then you'll have to take it up with them. Apple will not help you. If you bought from an Apple Store take it back and show the manager and tell him/her since you are in the return period you'd like to do an exchange. If you bought it online you have to call online. If the first line CSR tells you tough bananas then ask to talk to the supervisor.

If you bough online it's a much tough road to hoe. Most online stores do not accept returns for any reason per their agreement with Apple. Some will try and help mediate between you and Apple, but usually will just refer you back to Apple. Apple typically does not cover cosmetic issues under warranty.
