TETHERED JB is the only available option for you at the moment.

I dont think it works using Windows 7, you will need to run it in XP mode or use a laptop with xp on it like im doing right now

Works fine here on Win 7 64bit Ultimate.
Didnt have to run it on Compatibility mode either but if needed you could do that also.

damn Im halfway through downloading the files onto my laptop.

I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit too so it should work using the guide in iclarified.

Do I need to restore using the linked ipsw or can I just use it when using redsnow.

Basically can I jailbreak over my current phone setup as long as it is the correct frimware

Perhaps you should use a tutorial from iClarified (which was also previously suggested)
