I did a jailbreak on my iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.1 using greenpoisi0n. It worked perfectly for a couple of days and still does on all fronts except one. I have lost the vibration notification. I tried to install a vibration increase app, but still no vibration. Any ideas? I'm trying to upload a screenshot, if that will help in diagnosis.

When you turn the vibration button to silent. Did the screen give you any image like the bell with line goes through it?

did it vibrate? if it did, then look at all the vibration setting you have in there. If it not, then the vibrate motor is gone.

Motor is Gone? As in dead? Or as in I need to restore to original to get it back. This phone is only 5 days old.

Most probably dead. 🙁
Are you sure you did not install any JB apps that interfere with the vibration function?

I did a quick google search and found this in a Apple forum:

iPhone 4 not vibrating at all

I also have been experiencing this. The other day my iphone 4 just stopped vibrating. I downloaded the iBrate app, and when I tap the upper left front side of the iphone it will vibrate. As soon as I turn the off the iBrate app, and turn it back on it will not vibrate unless i tap the front again. I also just updated to iOS 4.2.1 so I don't know if that is also the issue. It would seem as though this is a manufacturing defect. I plan on going into the local apple store, but I bought the iphone from Best Buy, so I don't know if they will do anything. I'm an iOS developer and test app builds on this device daily and take business call's (when I notice a call coming in that is, no thanks to the vibrating that should be working), I also don't want to be out of a phone if they insist on it being shipped out to get repairs. Has anyone brought their iphone in and received a new one on the spot before leaving the store? If so did they keep your old one? I have important data on the device and don't want to just hand my phone over.

Hopefully this will help...

I installed a lot of JB apps. I'm trying to figure out if one of them interferes. I tried the ibrate and it still will not vibrate. I think I'm going to restore and see if that works. If not, then I guess I'm gonna have to get a refurb unit.

Ok, good luck, let's hope the restore will fix the issue.

I believe the motor is dead. Just restore your phone and see if it works. If not, bring it back in to get a replacement. since you restore it, they will not know it has been jailbroken.
