Just quickly looked through forums and couldn't find anything similar to my problem. When I start up my imac, the screen stays white for around 20 seconds and then a flashing earth appears. I think if I wait a while it eventually comes on, but I dont know if this is the case, I will look into it further but if anyone can give any advice for now, that would be great. I'll keep you updated.

Cheers.

Go to System Preferences, Click on Startup Disk, then choose the hard drive.

I think your computer is setup to try and boot of a network drive which is indicated by the flashing Globe. If you want to, hit Restart... in the Startup Disk preference panel and see if it stops the Globe from showing up.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, it helped! I've also installed windows vista so I will try restarting on that too. Hopefully no problems with that, I think it'll be okay. Anyway, thank you! :D
