This morning I swapped out the hard drive in my 27" Mid-2011 iMac for an SSD. Now when I turn on my computer one side of the LCD (left side) is darker than the other.

Did I forget to connect something? Other than this everything seems fine, but this is pretty bad. Or is my LCD messed up?

Thanks.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Otherwise, maybe you didn't push the screen into place properly. Might want to bring it back up, then close it again and see how that goes.

Turns out the backlight cable was slightly loose. Then I googled it and found others who had screen failures where the left was darker then the right so I got freaked.

Took it apart. Reconnected the obviously loose backlight cable. Now all is well. Happy thanksgiving to that :)
