Help Philips Hue Setup???

Just received a Hue starter kit.
I'm trying to set this up but can't figure it out or find an answer.

Is the bridge supposed to be connected directly to your router for it to work?
When I have the bridge hard wired directly to router, I can see it on the app.
When I disconnect and try wirelessly, nothing comes up.
I've connected the Hue to a switch as well and still does not show up on the app.
I've tried to reset and start over and still nothing.

Can someone please help me setup this bridge?

I'm looking to wirelessly set this up, if possible.
So that my router stays as is in the basement and I move or place the Hue in a different floor.

Hub has to be connected to the router, it's not able to connect to your wifi. The bulbs create a mesh network so if the hub can't reach your bulbs you could put a chain on them in the lower floors?

Not sure what happened or why but Hue is now being seeing by the App.

The bridge doesn't have Wi-Fi, so it has to be wired.
