help please - lyrics only on left side!

Okay so basically i need some help...
I am importing music in mp3 format....which plays in both sides of the headphones.
But then when i record on a new track... the lyrics are only on the left side of the headphones.

Whats going wrong here?

are you recording your vocals to a mono track?

no it says stereo 1 and 2

your voice and the mic are mono sources. if you record that to a stereo track then you'll hear it on only one side (usually left).

so you should record it to a mono track and keep the pan center on playback -- then you'll hear it equally from both speakers.

that probably indicates which input into which the mic is plugged.
